The greatest challenge in life is discovering who you are… The second greatest challenge is being happy with what you find. You can have the perfect job, great relationships, and perfect health, but if you don’t feel happy with yourself on the inside, then everything else can feel hollow. So how do you know if you’re happy with yourself? In this guide, we’ll explore some ways to know whether or not you’ve found your true self, and why being happy with what you discover might be the most important part of your journey to fulfillment.

The first step is admitting that you don’t know who you are

I don’t know who I am – this may seem like a strange statement, but it’s true. We go through life discovering who we are and what makes us happy, and there are plenty of times when we’re not sure what it is that will make us happy. Sometimes, you might think you know what will make you happy, but then something happens that changes your mind. Maybe someone close to you dies, or maybe you have an amazing vacation and come back feeling refreshed – only to find out your job has been eliminated or your company has gone out of business. The point is that life can change at any time and without warning; so it’s important that we be open to all possibilities while also being aware of our own needs.

Start paying attention to your thoughts and feelings

This post isn’t a lecture, but it’s an invitation. The challenge of life isn’t knowing who you are. That part comes easy. The second greatest challenge of life is being happy with what you find, and that takes work. Work that starts by paying attention to your thoughts and feelings and doing something about them when they don’t align with what you want for yourself.

Get rid of anything that doesn’t make you happy

It’s easy to get caught up in what others want for you, or what society deems as successful. But that doesn’t mean it’s right for you. Discovering yourself and being happy with who you are can be difficult at first, but it’s worth the journey. If there are aspects of your life that don’t make you happy, remove them from your life. Don’t settle for anything less than happiness because life is too short not to enjoy every second of it.

Be patient with yourself

We are not all born knowing who we are. In fact, some of us spend our entire lives searching for that answer. And when we finally find it, it can be a relief and a burden at the same time. There’s no easy answer here–just know that as hard as this journey may seem, you’re not alone on your search.

Don’t be afraid to change

No one knows what they want their life to look like until they start taking risks, trying new things, and exploring who they are. A person’s journey through life may seem like a winding road of ups and downs at first, but it will eventually lead them back to themselves. I know this because I’ve been on that journey myself.
I’m no expert on anything but my own life, but I do believe that people should be willing to take risks and try new things because at the end of the day, not only will you have more experiences under your belt, you’ll also have a better idea of who you are as a person.

Learn to love yourself

It can be difficult to love yourself when you’re not quite sure who you are. But it’s important that we do. Our joy and happiness should not be based off of what other people think of us or how others view us. It should come from within ourselves, and our own self-confidence and love for who we are as a person. With time and patience, it will become easier for you to find your true identity and learn to love yourself for everything that you are.
