The True Key to Success: Why Consistency Matters More Than You Think

The True Key to Success: Why Consistency Matters More Than You Think

Everyone has heard the story of the tortoise and the hare, right? If not, here’s the gist of it: The tortoise was slow and steady, but eventually won the race against his quicker-footed counterpart, thanks to his consistency and endurance. And while this story doesn’t exactly give off the impression that consistency is anything to be proud of, it turns out that there’s more to the story than just slow and steady wins the race. Consistency can also help you be successful in your career and in other aspects of your life.

Story of Hare and tortoise
A long time ago, there was a tortoise and a hare that were racing. The hare had an incredible start but the tortoise was determined to win. As it turned out, the tortoise won the race because of his consistency and not his speed. It’s not how fast you are, but how consistent, is what they say. In other words, if you have a goal and don’t give up, you’ll be more likely to reach your destination than someone who gives up at the first sign of trouble.

What Is Consistency?
Consistency is the act of doing something the same way over and over again. The Hare and the Tortoise story illustrates this point well. The Hare, with all his speed, had a very inconsistent pace because he was constantly changing his speed to try to stay ahead of the tortoise. In contrast, the tortoise had a consistent pace and eventually won because he refused to change his pace no matter what happened.

Examples of Lack of Consistency
-Losing a client because of subpar work.
-Missing a deadline due to procrastination.
-Failing to meet your goals due to lack of commitment. -Giving up on something too soon, without even giving it an honest try.
-Becoming resentful about an opportunity missed, or looking back with regret at how poorly you invested time and energy in something that ended up not being what you expected it to be in the first place.
What is the key difference between the person who succeeds and the one who doesn’t?

How To Achieve Greater Consistency
Consistency is the best way to achieve success. To be consistent, you’ll need discipline and determination.

  • Set Goals and Track Progress. Have a plan for what you want to accomplish, set goals, and track your progress. – Create Routines that Work For You. Create routines that work for you instead of against you by getting into a routine for how you spend your time each day as well as how much sleep and exercise you’re getting each week.

Achieving Greatness Through Consistent Effort
In ancient Greece, there was a little-known fable about the race between the hare and the tortoise. The story goes that the hare, who had great speed but lacked endurance, starts out far in front of the tortoise. But as they approach their destination, the hare takes one look at his exhausted foe and quits just before crossing the finish line. It seems like a silly story with an obvious moral. Yet it’s also a poignant reminder of what true success really looks like.

How Abraham Lincoln became American president through his never ending consistency
Abraham Lincoln was a slow and steady man who never gave up on his goals. He didn’t have a lot of education, but he became President of the United States because he was able to keep going even when everyone told him he couldn’t do it. Lincoln’s favorite quote was Give me six hours to chop down a tree and I will spend the first four hours sharpening the axe. This is a perfect example of how his consistency helped him get what he wanted in life. When Lincoln was 12 years old, he got into a fight with another boy about which Bible verse came first-Genesis or Psalms. The two boys took their argument to school and were punished for fighting. But instead of giving up, Lincoln spent all night studying until he found that Genesis came before Psalms. So every day for the next year, Lincoln challenged kids at school by asking them which Bible verse came first-and after one year not one kid could tell him Genesis wasn’t first!

The Beauty of Life: When We Are Attached to Nothing and Connected to Everything

The Beauty of Life: When We Are Attached to Nothing and Connected to Everything

Life is beautiful when attached nothing..
Connected to everything

If you find yourself attached to anything, you won’t be able to experience the beauty of life because you’ll be too busy thinking about what you are missing out on or what you don’t have. That may sound harsh, but it’s true; when we truly believe that life and everything in it is beautiful in its own way, and that we can always find something new, the little worries in our mind begin to dissolve away.

Introducing the concept

It’s a common misconception that life is more beautiful when we’re attached to something. This is not true. Our lives are most beautiful when we are unattached, free, content with what we have, and connected to everything.
It’s impossible to be content with what we have if we’re attached to anything in particular. If you think about it, being attached means you’ll always crave for something else that the attachment doesn’t provide for you. And if you don’t have the attachment then your life will be full of joy and wonder because all there is for you is everything around you, which includes people who love you unconditionally no matter what happens in your life.

What does it mean to be attached to nothing?

It is the beauty of life when we are attached to nothing. It is the detachment from the material world, the attachment to our spiritual nature. It is a shift in perspective that allows us to see all things as they really are–as pure energy vibrating at different frequencies. To be unattached is not a state we enter into by choice; it is one that happens automatically when we let go of attachments, though it can be hard work at times.
It’s hard work because many people are attached to their jobs, or their homes, or their families, or their possessions. The trouble with these attachments is that they create an illusion–they make you think you need them in order to survive.

The benefits of being attached to nothing

This quote from the Tao Te Ching sums up the benefits of being unattached. If we are not hooked onto anything, then we can be connected to everything. This means that there will be no fear or anger in our lives, because these emotions come from attaching ourselves to things that can hurt us. Plus, by being unattached, we can fully enjoy the present moment and take advantage of opportunities when they arise.
When you are content to be simply yourself and don’t compare or compete, everybody will respect you.

How can we achieve this state of being?

This state can be achieved by following the Buddhist practice of mindfulness, which teaches that we should live in the moment. In other words, we should not let our minds dwell on past unpleasant events or become anxious about future uncertainties. Instead, we should focus on what is happening right now. By living mindfully, we are able to appreciate each moment for what it is worth. For example, when eating an apple for lunch, you might notice its shape, weight, taste and color. This type of awareness trains us to be more present in our lives because it helps keep us from getting stuck in past worries or future anxieties.

Lead Your Life Like a Captain

How to Lead Your Life Like a Captain: Facing Troubles, Mistakes, and Errors

Lead your life like a captain leads his ship through troubles, mistakes, and errors

How do you lead your life like a captain leads his ship through troubles, mistakes, and errors? By being prepared with the right attitude and perspective—no matter what you encounter during your journey through life. It’s one thing to keep your head up when things are going smoothly, but it’s another thing entirely to maintain that optimism and confidence when the proverbial poop hits the fan—and that’s what makes all the difference in the world between success and failure, optimism and pessimism, fulfillment and disappointment.

Establish clear goals and objectives

It can be easy to lose sight of your goals and objectives when faced with troubles, mistakes, and errors. But a captain leads his ship through these tumultuous times by setting clear goals and objectives for himself. In the same way you are responsible for your life. You have the power to choose what kind of person you want to be. One who is determined or one who gives up in the face of adversity? A captain never surrenders; he always finds another way!

Set sail with a positive attitude

Every captain knows that life is full of troubles. There are mistakes made that must be corrected, and errors committed where you must do the right thing. If you’re not careful these things can get in your way. But they don’t have to – if you set sail with a positive attitude. Here are five ways to stay on course through life’s trouble, mistakes, and errors:
1) Stay calm. It’s normal to feel anger or sadness in response to troubles or errors committed against us or our friends. We’ve all been there – but we have choices in how we respond. If you feel yourself getting angry or upset about something – stop for a minute (or as long as it takes). Breathe deeply until you feel calmer than before you stopped.

Take responsibility for your actions

It’s easy to blame life for your mistakes or errors. The fact is that you are the captain of your ship and no one else will take responsibility for it but you. If there are things in your life that need changing, then change them. No one can make those changes for you. Be brave enough to face troubles head on and you will find success is waiting for you on the other side.

Stay calm in the face of adversity

Being able to stay calm in the face of adversity is crucial for a successful leader. Whether you are at work or at home, there will always be tough times that challenge your ability to remain calm. It’s important that you practice staying calm during these difficult moments so that you can be an effective leader. Take deep breaths, count to ten, and think about what needs to happen next. Remember that it’s okay if you make mistakes-as long as you learn from them and keep moving forward!

Learn from your mistakes

It is easy to think that mistakes are bad. But they’re not. They’re an essential part of learning how to lead your life like a captain leading his ship through troubles, mistakes, and errors. When you make a mistake (or error), it means that you are exploring something new. When you have a problem or obstacle in front of you, ask yourself what the lesson is behind it–what could I learn from this? Take every mistake as an opportunity for growth. Instead of seeing them as wrongs or evils or signs of weakness, see them for what they really are–opportunities for self-improvement.

Persevere through challenges

You’re going to face challenges in life. Everybody does. It’s just the way things are. And when you do face them, you have to be ready for it. You have to know that it’s not always going to be easy, but you can persevere through those challenges no matter what they may be; even if they’re big mistakes or errors. The important thing is that you don’t give up because at the end of the day perseverance is all that matters in life.

Arrive safely at your destination

Your life is your journey. And like any other journey, it’s not an easy one. You’re going to have troubles, mistakes, and errors. You’re going to fall down. But if you can follow these three guidelines – be flexible in the face of difficulties; stay the course; keep your head up – you’ll arrive safely at your destination.

Think Like Successful People

5 Ways to Think Like Successful People

If you want to live an extraordinary life, you’ll need to think like an extraordinary person.

This means changing your mental habits and letting go of some unhelpful perspectives that are holding you back from achieving all your goals, whether you want to be more successful at work or healthier and happier in your personal life. Think like a successful person by adopting these five habits of thought.

1) They Set Goals

Successful people are goal oriented. They set goals for themselves and then work hard to achieve them. Setting goals is an important first step, but you should also ask yourself what your goals mean. What do they represent? How will achieving them make you feel? Why are you pursuing this goal? Once you have a clear idea of why you want something, it’s easier to pursue it with a sense of purpose and direction.

2) They Take Action

Successful people know that the best way to be successful is to take action. They set goals and make a plan for how they will achieve them. The next time you want to accomplish something big, stop thinking about it and just do it. You’ll be surprised at how easy it is when you just give it a try! They Keep Their Eyes on the Prize: One of the main reasons some people never achieve success is because they lose focus and spend too much time focusing on insignificant details or things that don’t really matter. It’s important to know what your goal is and then work toward achieving it one step at a time without worrying about anything else.

3) They Focus on Their Strengths

Successful people know what they’re good at, and they focus on their strengths. In other words, successful people are confident. They’re not perfect, but they’ve got a pretty good sense of who they are and what they’re capable of. They also know what their weaknesses are. Sure, we all have them – nobody’s perfect. But successful people do everything in their power to minimize those weaknesses as much as possible so that when the time comes for them to do something where that weakness is important (or just unavoidable), they can do it well enough or delegate it to someone who is strong where that strength is needed and outsource it if need be.

4) They Persevere

Successful people have a relentless drive and determination. They don’t quit until they get the result they want. This is what successful people do:
1) They never give up on their vision for their life or business, no matter how difficult things get. 2) They stay confident in themselves, even when others don’t believe in them. 3) They are persistent and stubborn, refusing to let anyone or anything stand in the way of their goals. 4)They work hard on themselves every day, trying to become better than they were yesterday.

5) They surround themselves with positive people

It is vital that you surround yourself with positive people who have the same ambitions as you. Positive people will help push you through tough times and keep your spirits up. Negative people will only bring you down and make it difficult for you to reach your goals. Even if you are surrounded by negative people, it is important that the one person in your life who motivates and inspires you remains in your life.

6) They are extremely determined

Successful people are determined individuals. They have a vision and they are willing to do whatever it takes to make it come true. They understand that success is not instantaneous, and they’re willing to put in the time and effort into making their dreams reality. They know that sometimes life will get in the way of their goals, but they don’t let that stop them. Instead, they find ways around it or use it as an opportunity for growth.
Successful people also know when it’s time for them to take a break from the hustle and bustle of life, so that they can recharge and get back on track.

How to develop the mindset to dream big and achieve big hairy goals

No guts, no glory! How to develop the mindset to dream big and achieve big hairy goals

Developing a goal is an important step in achieving success.

No one wants to look back on their life and wonder what could have been if they’d just taken the plunge and gone for it. No one wants to look back on their life and feel stuck in a rut, never realizing their true potential because they were too afraid to really go after it. People are happiest when they’re dreaming big, but not everyone has what it takes to develop the mindset of an entrepreneur who can accomplish goals that other people say are impossible.

Define your goal

Developing a goal is an important step in achieving success. If you don’t know where you’re going, how will you know when you get there? Setting a goal helps define what needs to be done so that work can be done on accomplishing it. However, developing a goal is only one step of many that need to be taken in order for success. Achieving your goal takes hard work and dedication- it’s not easy by any means. In order for someone to accomplish their goal, they need resilience- they need to believe in themselves and their ability enough so that when faced with challenges or setbacks they’ll have the guts to push through them.

Develop a positive mindset

One of my favorite quotes is from Walt Disney – You can design and create, and build the most wonderful place in the world. But it takes people to make the dream a reality. This quote has always stuck with me because it shows that having a good attitude towards your work is essential. Regardless of how much work you do or how successful you are, your attitude will be what drives you. In order to have a positive mindset you need two things: First off, you need grit which means staying committed even when things get difficult. Secondly, you need resilience which means being able to bounce back after getting knocked down. If you can do these two things then congratulations–you have developed a positive mindset!

Create a plan of action

Developing the right mindset is a key to achieving your goals. Here are some steps you can take in order to develop a winning mentality:

  • Assess your current mental state. What are some thoughts that come up when you think about achieving your goal? – Identify what’s stopping you from achieving it. – Make a list of all the reasons why this goal is important for you. – Decide on an affirmation that will help break any negative thought patterns. – Create achievable milestones for yourself so that you can feel like you’re making progress in spite of setbacks. – Practice self care and prioritize your mental health by making time for things like exercise or just spending time with loved ones.

Take small steps

I’m happy to share that I recently finished my first marathon. It was a long journey – training for months and months, but it felt so good to finally cross the finish line. On a personal level, I feel like this accomplishment has given me more confidence in myself. It’s made me realize that if I set my mind on something, anything is possible.
I also wanted to say thanks for all your support throughout this journey; it means a lot that you were there for me every step of the way. If you’re interested in running your own marathon or just want some tips on how I trained, let me know – I’d be happy to chat with you about it!

Persevere

If you’re not afraid to set a high bar for yourself and work hard, then your dreams will come true. Here are seven ways you can cultivate the mindset of an entrepreneur that helps you stay focused on achieving your goals:
1) Set clear expectations for yourself. 2) Focus on progress rather than perfection. 3) Push yourself out of your comfort zone. 4) Acknowledge when things go wrong (but don’t dwell). 5) Stay curious about new opportunities. 6) Embrace setbacks as growth opportunities. 7) Be willing to take calculated risks

How to Stop Wasting Time and Start Achieving Your Goals

You have 168 hours in a week. That’s all the time you have. Make sure you use it wisely.

Time management is one of the most important skills you can develop as an entrepreneur or employee because it enables you to be more efficient and make better use of your time. If you’re always running behind schedule, being unable to complete your work, or having to cut out essential tasks, it’s likely that you don’t have a good handle on how to manage your time effectively. Luckily, there are specific ways that you can improve your time management skills in order to stop wasting time and start achieving your goals. Here are some tips that might help

Determine your goal

Decide what you want to accomplish. Write down a list of your short-term, mid-term, and long-term goals. Schedule time for these goals into your calendar. Figure out what activities will help you reach your goals. Schedule these activities into your calendar as well. Reward yourself when you complete a goal or activity that was important to you! Celebrate with something special that is also beneficial to your health such as enjoying a good book or taking an ice bath. Remember: You are in charge of how much time you spend on nonessential tasks like social media, television, and surfing the internet. The less time you spend on those things, the more productive your day will be!

Set a deadline

You have 168 hours in a week. That’s all the time you have. Make sure you use it wisely.
What are your goals? What do you want to achieve in your lifetime? How will you do it? Find out what is preventing you from achieving your goals and remove those obstacles. If money is an issue, then find ways to earn more of it. If there isn’t enough time, create more of it by prioritizing activities like sleep, food, or exercise. If there is too much on your plate, then start making choices about what should stay or go. Once these decisions are made, be willing to follow through with them and don’t let anything stop you from achieving what matters most to you.

Make a plan

Making a plan is the first step in time management. It’s important that you know your goals, how you want them to be achieved, and what things need to get done in order for them to be completed. The next step is breaking down your goal into smaller steps that can be accomplished more easily. This will help you stay on track with your progress so you don’t have any setbacks.

Set aside time each day to work on your goal

Here are some tips on how you can stop wasting time and start achieving your goals. First, set aside some time each day that you’re only allowed to do activities related to your goal. Then, find ways to make this time productive (e.g., by working with a coach). Finally, be strict about sticking with these rules—don’t let yourself work on anything other than your goal for the allotted time.

Eliminate distractions

If you’re having trouble staying motivated, here are some things you can do:

  • Get rid of distractions. These could be anything from your cell phone to other people who are pulling your attention away from what you should be doing. – When possible, break down your tasks into smaller pieces so it’s easier for you to accomplish them. – Figure out what motivates you most. Is it the thought of being productive? The end result of a task? Or something else entirely? Knowing what motivates you will help you stay motivated when times get tough. – Find some accountability partners or friends that will encourage and support you in your endeavors. It helps knowing that someone else is there on the journey with you.
