Why You Should Be Thankful For Your Bitter Days

If you’re going through an especially bitter phase of life, it can be hard to see the big picture, or even any kind of picture at all. You might feel like there’s no hope, or that things will never get better. That’s where gratitude comes in. By being thankful for every aspect of your life, you can shift your perspective to one that’s more positive and empowering. So don’t let a bitter day hold you down; be thankful instead! Here are a few reasons why you should be thankful you have had those bitter days in your life so far.

Consider why we get upset
We get upset when we think about what we don’t have, or when life doesn’t go the way we wanted it to. But those types of thoughts can be detrimental to our mental health. We need to shift our thinking so that we are not always looking at the negative side of things, and instead start focusing on the positive.

Gratitude improves your wellbeing
The other day I was thinking about the things I’m grateful for in my life and it really made me feel happy. One of the things I am grateful for is that, as a child, I had to go to school on days when it was snowing or raining. When you’re young, there’s nothing more fun than a snow day or a rain day. But looking back at those days now, they have helped prepare me for the future by giving me strength.

Be thankful for every day of misery
Be thankful for every day of misery. Sure, they may have given you strength, but that doesn’t mean they were easy to go through. Tt made you a better person. If anything, those days just made you tougher and more determined than anyone else who didn’t have to go through them.

How to practice gratitude in daily life

  • Spend a few minutes in solitude every morning and thank your lucky stars for all the good things you have. – Notice the small things that make life easier, like having clothes that fit or being able to take a shower without worrying about running out of hot water.
