The Most Beautiful Moments in Life are Moments When You are Expressing Your Joy, Not When You are Seeking It

expressing your joy,

The most beautiful moments in life are moments when you are expressing your joy, not when you are seeking it.

We are often taught to seek happiness and joy in life, but in reality, the moments of greatest happiness and joy are moments when we are expressing our joy, not when we are seeking it. This simple truth has transformed my view of how to live my life in ways that I could not have predicted when I first learned it, and it can transform yours as well. Let me explain by telling you about one particular moment from my own life where I learned this valuable lesson for myself.

The Most Beautiful Moments
I have always felt that the most beautiful moments in life were not those when you were seeking happiness and pleasure, but when you were expressing your joy. There is something so pure about the moments when you are just being yourself without any expectations of what could come from it. I think it is so important to be able to share with others how you feel and show them who you really are. So many times we worry about what other people will think or what they will say about us if we tell them how we feel. But that’s not who we need to be! We should be free of judgment from others and free to express ourselves because there is no one on this earth who can know us better than ourselves.

What is the best way to find happiness?
Happiness is a state of mind. Seek it by expressing your joy and being grateful for the small moments that make up your life. Happiness isn’t something that you can find; it’s something you create with how you think and what you do.
Start by setting goals that align with who you want to be and how you want to feel. And don’t let fear stop you from doing what makes your heart sing.

Why are momentary pleasures not satisfying?
All pleasures – momentary or otherwise – are fleeting. The search for pleasure is often an attempt to fill a void that can only be filled with happiness. The thing about happiness is that it’s not dependent on any one thing and therefore can’t be taken away from us by anything else. Happiness comes from being content and fulfilled with our lives as they are. If we’re not content and fulfilled, we won’t find lasting happiness even if we could have everything else we wanted. And so the most beautiful moments in life are those when we’re expressing our joy for what’s already been given to us instead of seeking it out for ourselves.

How can we make our happiness last?
Now that you know what it takes to be happy and stay happy, it is time to implement these changes. Think of what would make you happy on a day-to-day basis and try to do as many of them as possible. For example, if going out with friends makes you happy and so does cuddling with your significant other while watching a movie then make an effort to do both on a weekly basis. This way you can maintain the happiness that has been created. In addition, there will be more moments in life where you can express your joy rather than when you are just seeking it.

In the rat race of life
It’s easy to get caught up in the rat race of life and forget about what truly matters. I’m reminded of this every time I’m with my friends or family and we’re laughing so hard that we can’t catch our breath. If you find yourself looking for joy when it doesn’t come naturally, try making your own happiness instead. For example, take a few minutes before bed and plan out your day tomorrow morning. What will you wear? Who will you text first? Will it be a busy day at work or do you have a meeting first thing?
