Remembering My Father: A Father’s Day Tribute

Father’s Day has always been a special occasion for me, a time to celebrate and honor the man who has been my guiding star. However, for the past two years, this day has taken on a new meaning as I remember my father, who passed away. He was more than just my father; he was my role model, my mentor, and my inspiration.

My father lived in Aluva, where he served as an exemplary government employee in the Aluva Municipality. His commitment to his work and the community was unwavering. He was widely respected, regardless of caste or creed, a testament to his character and the principles he lived by. His fairness, kindness, and dedication earned him admiration from everyone who knew him.

Growing up under his guidance was a privilege. He taught me the value of hard work, integrity, and compassion. I remember watching him interact with people from all walks of life, treating each person with the same level of respect and empathy. His ability to connect with others, to listen and offer help without expecting anything in return, left a lasting impression on me.

One of my fondest memories is accompanying him on his rounds in the community. He would often stop to chat with locals, addressing their concerns and providing solutions with a gentle yet firm hand. His work was not just a job; it was a calling. He believed in serving others and making a positive impact on the lives of those around him.

His influence extended beyond his professional life. At home, he was a loving and supportive father, always encouraging me to pursue my dreams and aspirations. His belief in me gave me the confidence to follow my own path, and his lessons continue to guide me in my personal and professional life.

As I reflect on his life and legacy, I am filled with a deep sense of gratitude and pride. My father’s legacy is one of integrity, kindness, and unwavering commitment to the greater good. On this Father’s Day, I honor his memory and strive to live up to the example he set.

Dad, you may no longer be with us, but your spirit and teachings continue to guide me every day. Thank you for being the best father and role model I could have asked for. Your legacy lives on in the hearts of all who knew you, and I am forever grateful to be your son.

With love and remembrance, Dr. Sajeev Dev
