Don’t wait until everything is perfect before you begin, because you’ll never get started. It’s always easier to add more later than it is to make changes once the project has already been completed and the final touches are in place. Stop waiting for perfect; instead, take that first step and make things better than you originally envisioned them to be. Remember, Done is better than perfect, so just do it!
The myth of the perfect moment
It can be easy to fall into the trap of waiting around for the perfect moment to do something, but those moments don’t exist. You can create your own perfect moments at any time by taking a risk and doing what you’re afraid of. Your life won’t be better if you let it pass you by while you’re waiting for someone or something to give you permission to live it on your own terms.
Why you should seize the day
It is easy to think that you have to be in the right place, at the right time with everything lined up before you can start anything new or pursue your dreams, but that’s not true. You can seize opportunities as they come and create new opportunities when you don’t see them coming.
If I had waited for the perfect moment, I never would have had the courage to quit my job and pursue my passion full-time while working on my new startup on nights and weekends.
Overcoming procrastination
I know you’ve heard this before, but it’s worth repeating: there is no such thing as the perfect time to start your business or take the next step in your career. You can always find an excuse to put off your dreams, but that’s not how things work in the real world. In order to get what you want, you have to go out and create it!
Taking action towards your goals
Sometimes it’s hard to take the first step towards your goals or complete that project that has been sitting on your desk unfinished forever. But then you remember, don’t wait for a perfect moment, just make it. And so you take action and do what needs to be done. You might not finish everything in one day but you’ll feel accomplished and proud of yourself for getting started even if it was really hard at first.
